Warm Up for the EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon at the Birchfield Summer 10km
If you are running in the EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon, or if you are thinking of taking part, then you may be interested to hear about a 10km event which is also being staged in the city, would could provide you with a great opportunity to see how your half marathon training is progressing.
The Birchfield Summer 10km is being held on Wednesday 27 August at 7pm. The event starts and finishes on the track at the Birmingham Alexander Stadium and it is a multi terrain run using paths and good grass surfaces. Anyone aged 15 and over can take part and it costs £12 to enter if you are a member of an affiliated athletics club or £14 if you are unaffiliated. Entries will be accepted on the night but will cost £14 and £16.
There is a prize of £250 for the first male and first female runners and all entrants will receive a t-shirt.
The event is supported by Nike, Lucozade Sport, Birchfield Harriers and Edge Events Ltd.
